Dr. Manuel La Rosa obtained his Doctor in Dental Surgery degree, with highest academic honors in 1993. Driven by his passion for surgery, he was accepted to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he graduated in 1998. During his four-year hospital residency, he was exposed to the full scope of the specialty, including complex surgeries of the jaws, dentoalveolar surgeries, dental implantology, maxillofacial trauma, maxillofacial pathology, oncology, oral reconstructions, orthognatic surgery, as well as pediatric and adult anesthesia. Immediately following his residency, Dr. La Rosa completed a one-year fellowship in Advanced Head Neck Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, within the Department of Otorhinolaryngology. This advanced training has allowed him to better help patients in need of more complex surgeries of the head and neck, especially those suffering from cancer, and other diseases of the sinuses, jaws, and neck. Dr. La Rosa has been in private practice since 2000 in South King and Pierce Counties, and has earned a solid reputation among his professional colleagues. He is known for providing the highest and most comprehensive quality of care to his patients. Dr. La Rosa has been named as one of the top Oral Surgeons in the Seattle Metropolitan Magazine 2016 and 2017. Always enthusiastic about teaching and promoting the dental profession, Dr. La Rosa served as an Affiliated Instructor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for seven years. He has also published several articles in well-respected medical and dental journals, such as The Laryngoscope, and Oral Surgery, Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine. Further, Dr. La Rosa is the proud member of the Greater Pierce County Seminar Study Group, a not-for-profit organization composed of several specialists in all different disciplines of dentistry throughout the Puget Sound area, which meets on regular basis to discuss complex dental problems in a multidisciplinary approach. Dr. La Rosa is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). He also has certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). These are certifications that allow him to deliver a high level of patient care in case of emergencies, or trauma situations. Dr. La Rosa’s goal is to deliver the best possible care to his patients in a compassionate, personal and multidisciplinary manner. To this end, Dr. La Rosa stays up to date in the latest technologies, treatments, and research by participating in several ADA-accredited continuing education programs each year. Dr. La Rosa is recognized as a Fellow of the International College of Oral Implantology (ICOI), and the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology (ADSA). He is also a member of several professional and scientific organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (AAOMS); the Washington State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (WSSOM) where he served as President (2008-2009); the American Dental Association (ADA); the Washington State Dental Association (WSDA), and The Pierce County Dental Society (PCDS). Dr. La Rosa is the oral surgeon consultant for the non-for profit organization “Amigos de los Niños” which goes yearly to Honduras to do oral surgery and help orphan children in the orphanages of the charitable and national organization “Hope for Honduran Children”. Dr. Manuel La Rosa is married to Dr Silvia La Rosa and they together have two beautiful children. He is also a private pilot and avid outdoorsman. Dr. La Rosa enjoys flying, as well as all mountain and road biking.

Dr. Silvia La Rosa obtained her Doctor in Dental Surgery Degree in 1997. She spent a year studying French in Quimperlé, France then she returned to her native Colombia, where she was actively involved in community service, providing dentistry to under-served communities. Dr. La Rosa graduated with Honors before pursuing her ultimate goal: post-graduate training in Periodontics. She joined the Periodontics Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she obtained her Certificate in Periodontics in 2001, graduating Top Ranked among her class. She became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 2003, an endorsement of the American Board of Periodontology granted to the top professionals in this specialty across the US and abroad. She has been named as one of the top Periodontists for 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 in the Seattle Metropolitan Magazine. Dr. La Rosa enjoys all aspects of Periodontics, especially Implantology and soft tissue management. She is passionate about her specialty and stays up to date in the latest technologies, treatments, and research by participating in several ADA-accredited continuing education programs each year. Dr. La Rosa also enjoys teaching other dental professionals and allied staff. She also participates in programs to help the under-served communities. Her professional memberships include the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), the American Board of Periodontology (ABP), the Academy of Osseointegration (AO), the Washington State Society of Periodontics (WSSP), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Washington State Dental Association (WSDA), and the Pierce County Dental Society (PCDS). She served for 9 years in PCDS as a board of trustee and then executive member participating in multiple committees. She served as the president of the society from 2016 – 2017. Currently she serves as a board of trustees for the Pierce County Dental Foundation (PCDF). She has two beautiful children and is married to Dr. Manuel La Rosa. Dr. Silvia La Rosa speaks English, Spanish and French. Dr. La Rosa enjoys traveling, the outdoors, reading, photography, ballet, archery, and spending time with her family and friends.
